Patrick Peninque, a 57-year old orthézien psychiatrist was sentenced Thursday by the Court of Assizes of the Yvelines to six years in prison for rape and sexual assault in 2004 and 2006 on two of his former patients. The Court, who issued a warrant of committal at the hearing, also delivered against a definitive prohibition to exercise the profession of psychiatrist. The first woman had filed a complaint in 2006 for a rape committed two years earlier. Treated for depression and beginning of addiction to alcohol, the young woman had called in May 2004 the doctor during a crisis of anguish. The man asked him to come to his home in Rambouillet, where, according to the young woman, he had imposed fondled. Until August 2004, the 22 year old patient had visited "30 times" to purchase drugs at the home of the psychiatrist, who proposed the whisky before abusing it, according to the prosecution. In October 2006, the doctor, who was then at Orthez Préville clinic would, according to another patient, also cured alcoholism, spent the same stratagem to have sexual intercourse not agreed with it.
