Pedophilia: 15 years in prison for an Italian priest

Thursday, the Criminal Court of Rome sentenced to 15 years and four months in prison, Don Ruggero Ciotti, a priest who had abused seven children, between 1998 and 2008, including on camping trips organized by the parish.

The priest was sued for sexual acts with minors, violence and incitement to prostitution of a minor.

Federico Lombardi, the Vatican spokesman said that the paedophilic priest belonged to the parish of Porto-Santa rufina and not that of the Diocese of Rome, the Pope Benoît XVI is the Bishop.

The priest was also ordered to pay a "supply" of €200,000, as compensation for the victims, said The Monde.fr
