The gunman, who claimed in a call to the Betty Chain Group Islamic State, then explains in a rambling and sometimes nebulous style of hostages the reasons for his action. He referred in particular to the French military action in Mali, the Western bombing of Syria and denounces the apathy of the population that pays its « taxes » and is therefore « agree » with the Government. «Let the peaceful Muslims», it then said to one of the hostages, adding: «Here it is the law of retaliation»
The hostage-taker was killed by the police in the assault against the supermarket kosher Friday afternoon.
