Katiza est une étudiante infirmière noire âgée de 49 ans, mère de famille nombreuse et mariée à un soldat français. Elle habite en France depuis 25 ans.

Elle est restée 14 ans mère au foyer.

Elle tente le concours des infirmières (2007) où elle est admise classée 8ème sur 1500.

Katiza n’a pas eu de financement pour sa scolarité ; elle a travaillé le week-end et pendant les grandes vacances pour financer sa scolarité.

Katiza va rencontrer plusieurs problèmes lors des stages dans les hôpitaux. Certaines infirmières refusent de l’encadrer ou simplement l’envoient intégrer l’équipe de ménage ou d’aides-soignants. Certaines infirmières lui disent qu’elle a la tête d’une femme de ménage et d’une personne qui n’est pas capable d’être en 3ème année. On lui conseille de faire un métier où il n’y a pas de responsabilités. On lui fait une fouille corporelle avant ses exercices dits faux alors qu’ils n’ont jamais été corrigés. Ses collègues élèves infirmières blanches n’ont pas eu d’exercices à faire ; elles ont fait des piqûres, des pansements… et leurs stages sont validés. Ses professeurs disent qu’elle ne sait pas parler français, et que l’on ne comprend pas ce qu’elle dit avec son soi-disant accent d’africain.

Lors de son dernier stage Katiza a passé sa mise en situation professionnelle de 20h à 21h alors que sa journée se terminait à 19h, soit une journée de plus de 14 heures de présence ! L’infirmière a refusé de signer son carnet d’encadrement et lui fait un rapport de stage que la directrice de son école refuse de lui communiquer. A l’issue de ce stage les notes attribuées à Katiza ne lui permettent pas de se présenter au diplôme d’état. Katiza signale les faits par écrit à sa directrice. La directrice la présente comme un élément perturbateur et organise son exclusion. Comme Katiza résiste, sa professeure référente lui demande de se suicider. Une autre lui demande de se mettre en arrêt maladie. La directrice fait barrage à son inscription pour une reprise de sa 3ème année d’infirmière dans une école située dans la ville de garnison où est muté son mari. Donc Katiza a dû arrêter sa scolarité à 6 mois du diplôme d’état.

Katiza a pris une avocate, elle est allée a une permanence de la ligue des droits de l’homme, elle a écrit a la HALDE.

Katiza veut aller jusqu’au bout de son projet professionnel.
